MEETING inSITE LLC
Meeting inSite, LLC was formed as a result of a friendship between Ari Shapiro, President of
Reliable Facility Placement, LLC (RFP) and Julie Baum, President of Evolutionary Consulting,
Incorporated (ECI).
In the spring of 2002, Ari's company, RFP, needed a way to store customer information and
share vendor information amongst his sales force. Ari was using a stand-alone desktop application
that allowed him to manage his customers, programs, suppliers, and contacts. As his company
expanded, however, he needed a technical solution that would allow him to track his associate's
work, as well as his own. He also needed a way to share his database of suppliers with
his customers. He contacted Julie and engaged her company (ECI) to create a web-based application
that would allow RFP to store transaction-level business information. At the same time,
several of RFP's customers were expressing their frustration about the choices in existing meeting
planning software. Ari began to tell these customers about the customized web-based
application which Julie created for him and they were very interested in learning more.
As a result, Ari and Julie decided to create and distribute a general web-based application for
the meeting planning industry and thus SAGE - Strategic Application for Group Events - was
born. SAGE takes the effective networking formula that has made many top meeting planners
so successful and enhanced it with a multi-functional web-based technology.
